Nintendo Wire’s very own Matthew Weidner attended the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee! launch event at Nintendo NY. While there, he had the opportunity to soak in all the Poké goodness set up around the store. From large character statues and cardboard cutouts to a life-size map of the region, the floor was gently transformed into a real life world of pocket monsters.

Alongside Matthew were longtime Pokémon fans dedicated to getting the most of their experience at the historical launch. One fan even waited in line outside the store for two days so he could relish all the excitement!

If you couldn’t make it to Nintendo NY yourself, you can still get a taste of the event by checking out our small gallery of the setup below:

Designer and writer by day, gamer by night, Lauren dreams big when it comes to creative endeavors. Perhaps that's why she's taken on the roles of creative director and managing editor for Nintendo Wire. If she had a video game superhero alias, it might just be The Visionary, a true keeper of imaginative order.
