Despite being the studio behind one of the biggest franchises in gaming, Game Freak has a relatively low presence on social media. Now, however, that’s all changing, as the company has started up a Twitter feed and YouTube channel that’ll give the studio a more direct line of communication with fans.

Only one video is up so far, and it’s the introduction to a “Game Freak Secret Base” series, where various staff members joke around. Naturally it’s all in Japanese, so if you don’t understand the language you’re out of luck, but it’s fun to see the team open up.

Whether we’ll get news in the future from these sources is unclear, but here’s hoping! Game Freak’s next games, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! launch in a week’s time, while Generation VIII will follow in 2019.
