Previously slated for a Winter 2018 release, turns out Team Sonic Racing needs a little more time in the shop to get itself running as well as it can. Sega has announced that the new targeted date for the game is May 21st, 2019 in order to make the game “the best it can be”.

Having played the game at E3 and followed its progress since announcement, I’m glad to see it getting a little more time and work. Sumo Digital has done some great and fun stuff with their previous Sega racing titles, and if it leads to a greater realization of the “Team” concept and a more quality and content filled product, then this one can stay with the pit crew as long as it needs.
