A new duo’s on the rise in Inkopolis Square and while they’re no Off the Hook this squid and octo pair are ready to play with and off of each other to bring some new sounds to your Splatoon 2 matchups.

Meet Diss-pair, the collision of Ikkan (former bassist of Squid Squad) and Warabi (Octoling behind the beats). Allegedly they refuse to interact with each other in the studio, devoting themselves to their dissonance to make sure they don’t lose their edge. They each handle different halves of each song, and when it comes together we get a little something like this:

Their debut single, Seasick, brings some heavy distortion to the metal vocals along with thumpin’ bass lines. All that’s stitched together with all-digital drumwork and more melody driven synths to rock the boat til you’re castaway by these crashing waves of sound. If your tastes drift a little more with the digital tides they’ve still got you covered.

A more frantic bass and plenty of beeps, beats and keys are one thing but the dueling vocals make this finely programmed piece of music really stand out. That Splatoon’s still able to churn out music with its bigger updates and have it all unified yet unique is just another reason why you should be ready to roll when they drop in game tonight.
