More images from the Super Mario Odyssey art book have surfaced online (after the Bowsette concept that blew up online), and they include some new concept art. First, Rosalina was to make an appearance in the game as a guitarist, and I can now never forgive Nintendo for not moving forward with this idea of a casually styled space goddess jamming out on an acoustic.
There are also a lot of images for unusued Mario costume ideas, including ones based on a Spritzee, a Luma, a female sailor uniform, and Toadette. (The irony of that last one considering the recent transpirings on the internet is palpable). Considering Nintendo is still adding costumes to the game, it’s not entirely unreasonable to see these making it into Super Mario Odyssey in the future, though we can’t say for certain one way or the other at this point.
Anyway, if guitar Rosalina doesn’t make it into a future game I’m officially suing Nintendo for its shortsightedness. Make it happen or you’ll hear from my lawyers, Big N!
