For a game that’s been out since the Switch released, Super Bomberman R’s managed to grow some pretty long legs. A series of improvements to the game’s online, new and varied modes, and a host of Konami crossover characters (and then some) have kept the game growing and makes for a much fuller game than what originally released. Now we’ve got a brand new batch of brand new to check out in a brand new trailer:

Joining the ranks will be Alucard from Castlevania, Caesar from Star Soldier, Upa from Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, and the MCs of this update – Mimi and Nyami from Pop’n Music. Alucard and some Pop’n Music love have been on my wishlist, and it’s great to see them and these deep cuts get the Bomber treatment. They’re not all that’s new from the worlds of Konami though – new Castlevania themed maps have been added as well.

You can check all of these out when you hop into the all new game mode, Civilians. There you’ll have to guide adorable little blobs called Balloms back to your team’s base in order to score while keeping the other side from doing the same. All of this, as well as some new accessories, tweaks, and more come along in the new Version 2.2 update, available to download now.
