In listening to all these Smash Ultimate songs, most have been exciting mixes that try something really out there. This one though, this one grows atop the foundation and manages to capture the feel of Pikmin in a perfect way.

The Main Theme of the first Pikmin always stood out to me, somewhat strange and somewhat ominous but with an underlying sense of purpose. All of that is here as well, but almost with renewed hope that you might catch the dawn of a new day of survival. You can almost hear the pitter patter of Pikmin and explorers setting out to say “this is our planet, and no behemoth of a Bulborb is going to stop us”. Thanks to Hideki Sakamoto, who also provides Ultimate’s own theme, we’ve got ourselves another great, new Smash track.
