The limbless hero Rayman has been on many fans’ Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter wishlists. Blame Omni Jacala, creator of Smashified, and his impressive fake back in 2015 or your love Rayman’s adventures, but seeing the kung-fu fighting hero in any official fighting game would be a treat.
Enter Blue Mammoth Games; the developers behind Brawlhalla and lovers of hand drawn art, who were acquired by Ubisoft earlier this year. Since then, Ubisoft has been assisting with bringing Brawlhalla to more platforms and giving the game its first crossover legend fighter – Rayman. Announced at the end of Sunday’s Brawlhalla block on Ubisoft’s PAX West livestream, Rayman will be playable on November 6th, the same day Brawlhalla enters the Nintendo Switch library, free to play. Rayman-themed events will also be taking place in-game.

Don’t despair at this announcement, as appearing in one fighting game doesn’t entirely cancel out a potential roster spot on another. Ubisoft having a hand in Blue Mammoth Games means Ubisoft can bring various characters from their IPs and mix them into Brawlhalla’s roster. Tack on the ability to purchase cosmetic assets (skins, taunts, etc.) and the opportunity is too good to pass up.
