Cats are great. Even as somehow who is incredibly allergic to them, I know it to be true. That’s why, out of all the indie games shown during today’s Nindies Showcase, Mineko’s Night Market shone the brightest.

Everything in the game revolves around cats it seems like. You race them, you dress up as them, you can even grow them like plants. They’re everywhere and it’s the cutest pandemic I’ve ever seen. Check out the trailer:

Of course, it’s not all cats, the gameplay is important too. It looks like there’s a heavy emphasis on resource collecting and crafting, with you earning money by selling crafted goods. The official website promises plenty of mini-games too, and there’s an enigmatic mystery to unravel involving the mythical Sun Cat, Abe.

Personally, though, I’ll be playing the game to chill out. There’s something incredibly zen about the whole presentation and I can’t wait to get my hands on it (hopefully they won’t flare up from the allergies.)

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
