While people twiddle their thumbs in anticipation of Spike Chunsoft getting off their butts and making a Gen VII Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, a bit of surprising news has come in related to the series’ music – Arata Iiyoshi, the composer of both PMD Blue/Red Rescue Team and PMD Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky, is hoping to release an official Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Original Soundtrack.

A PMD music fan, going by Reddit name u/Hexagon1245, was engaging in email correspondence with Iiyoshi when he revealed that he wants to release an OST. However, there are rights issues at play, and Iiyoshi is planning to turn to crowdfunding in an effort to solve them. This was confirmed by the Reddit moderators as legitimate, so it really does seem that Iiyoshi is planning to try and release an OST.

While he has not confirmed plans yet on his Twitter, you can check out the Reddit thread for full info – and in the meantime, listen to some music from said games, because there are some certificable tasty jams here:
