Even with all the first and third representation already in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the game dipping further and further still. Take this latest music track for example; a full on medley for the arcade legend Galaga. Sure, it’s an item and had a few music cameos in the past, but it’s still an awesome reminder that even more Bandai Namco content is fair game.

Coming courtesy of Yusuke Takahama this time, it strikes a balance between Namco’s original samples and some more contemporary electronic sounds. While this is great in and of itself, it’s got my head spinning with what could happen if Tales of music made it in, or even fellow arcade game Mappy’s theme getting a full arrangement. Only about four months to go til we’ll know!

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
