While most people are likely looking to SNK’s upcoming 40th Anniversary Collection with an eye on those classic arcade titles, the game I’m most interested in is the little forgotten NES gem Crystalis.
Playing similarly to most action RPGs of the era, most notably Zelda, Crystalis has the unique hook of being a post-apocalyptic tale filled with mutated creatures. You can check out a brief snippet of the game in the Anniversary Collection below:
Crystalis is just one of many classic SNK games being folded into the collection; others include Ikari Warriors and Alpha Mission. It will launch for the Nintendo Switch this November 13th in North America, so get ready to dive back in time this holiday season!
