Tingle has never starred in his own game in North America, but he has a history of Nintendo DS games in Japan and Europe. The Tingle games are definitely some of Nintendo’s stranger projects, as the final entry sees Tingle enter a Wizard of Oz-like storybook where he has to dance with the realm’s princess to escape. Sounds like it couldn’t possibly get any weirder, right?

Well, it could have, if Tingle’s final project hadn’t been cancelled eight years ago. In an interview with Kotaku, producer Kensuke Tanabe said:

“We were developing a horror game with Vanpool that starred Tingle as the main character, but that project was canceled due to a variety of reasons.”

Tingle hasn’t been given his own game since 2009, and it seems unlikely that will change anytime soon. Do you want to see Tingle enter the spotlight? What genre do you want to see the fairy-wannabe tackle? Let us know!
