There are few video game songs as iconic or recognizable as Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’s eponymous theme tune. Norihiko Hibino and Cynthia Harrel’s bombastic and soulful track evokes classic James Bond songs and 60’s Cold War espionage in one of the finest songs ever put to game screen. And now, the song has a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate remix, courtesy of MGS 3, 4, and 5 composer Nobuko Toda.

While Snake Eater did have an instrumental appearance in Brawl, this freshly arranged track trades the original’s smooth pacing for a more frantic and battle appropriate rendition. Its quickened pulse and rocking guitar may not provide the same jazzy feeling as the original, but it proves that this song remains so supreme.
