Sonic Mania absolutely nailed it in so many ways, and for me some of the best features were its Special and Bonus Stages. While the Chaos Emerald chasing levels were my favorite, I was always down for a little Blue Sphere whenever the chance come up. Now, thanks to a new bit of footage from Sonic Mania Plus, a new contender is stepping in for the update’s Encore Mode.

Taking some cues from the existing Special Stage’s visuals, mixing in pinball style boards, and a dash of Knuckles Chaotix’s Combi Catcher it all comes together to offer you rings, shields, and extra lives. Give it a try for yourself when Sonic Mania Plus launches both on shelves and as an update on July 17th.
