Another week, another new song added to the mix of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This time around it’s from Mega Man, specifically a medley of songs from Mega Man IV. This Famicom fourquel may’ve marked the start of these games becoming somewhat samey, but thanks to this new track I might have to at least give it another listen.

In the brief clip we have I can make out Dive Man’s and Skull Man’s themes, with Dive Man’s section in particular being a great way to kick things off. That guitar comes courtesy of Jun Senoue, best known for his work composing music for Sonic the Hedgehog games. Here’s hoping it isn’t his only arrangement for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; with five months to go til release there’s still lots of time to show off new music.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.

I’ve always enjoyed Mega Man 4. I feel it has some great music that is unfairly overlooked. Especially in the remix world. Glad to hear it’s making an appearance to a larger audience.

Agree that Mega Man 4 has some great songs. Especially the music from the Dr. Cossack levels.
