Since its surprise reveal at E3 2017, I’ve been eating up every piece of Blade Strangers news that comes along. The crossover fighter from Nicalis and Studio Saizensen looks to strike a great balance between eye-catching visuals, rewarding combat, and easy to play and understand mechanics — and that’s just based on the few matches I was able to play since then.

The wait’s almost over! We now know that Blade Strangers will finally be out on August 28th for Nintendo Switch and other platforms. The game will bring together characters from multiple Saizensen and Nicalis titles, original characters, and guests like Shovel Knight and Azure Striker Gunvolt for all of its story, single, and multiplayer modes. It’s a fight you won’t want to miss!
