While a plethora of stages from past games in the Super Smash Bros. series will make appearances in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, not every single one will, according to new information coming out of a press-only Q&A session that occurred at E3 this year.
The news comes from Source Gaming, citing a Famitsu write-up on the Q&A involving Nintendo Treehouse’s Bill Trinen and Nate Bihldorff.
The biggest reveal is that not every stage will be returning like every character will be.

Over the course of E3 and through footage of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate published later, some fans speculated that the return of every character in the series also meant that every stage could make a comeback — especially given the sheer number of stages already revealed (at least 84).
