The Mega Man X games have always been known for their tight, faster-paced gameplay, and one of my favorite aspects was always the bosses. These worthy Robot Master successors borrowed mostly from animals and made every Maverick matchup memorable in their own way. For the upcoming compilation releases though, it looks like they’re teaming up to make for some new tests of skill via the X Challenge mode.
You’ll play as normal, but instead of a single boss, you’ll have to take on two at once. It looks like they’re unifying them based on themes. Able to take out Chill Penguin with your eyes closed? Well, now Frost Walrus is joining in for some Arctic Antics. It’s a cool concept and adds something new for longtime fans.
You can pre-order the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 now, and dive into Mega Man X through X8 when it releases on July 24th.
