Nintendo opened their E3 Direct with a brand new game – a stylish action-mecha game titled Daemon X Machina. Utilizing a robotic mecha called an Arsenal, you take on a series of missions filled with cel-shaded intensity as you do battle with other mobile suits, giant battleships, and all other manner of mechanical behemoth.

While a new IP, Daemon X Machina boasts some impressive talent on its team. It’s being produced by Kenichiro Tsukuda (Armored Core 1-3), with mech designs from Shoji Kawamori (Macross) and character designs from Yusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem Awakening/Fates, No More Heroes), as well as music from Junichi Nakatsuru (Soul Caliber) and Rio Hamamoto (Tekken). It’s a great melding of minds who have experience with mecha, so it appears that Daemon X Machina is in capable hands.

While there was a lot of the game that was unclear from his blood-pumping trailer – including control scheme, story, etc. – stay wired for more news on the game, hopefully during E3 to come.
