When the Switch’s full capabilities were shown off for the first time many rhythm game fans realized one franchise in particular would be perfectly suited to the Joy-Con controls – Taiko no Tatsujin, or Taiko Drum Master. Naturally, a game was quickly confirmed for the system, and it’ll be releasing in Japan next month. Thanks to the eShop’s relative ease when it comes to region free gaming, becoming a Drum Master is more attainable than ever.

While many of us were ready to just battle past the Japanese text, it sounds like we won’t have to for long. On August 9th, a few weeks after the Japanese launch, the game will be getting an English patch across Asia. While this is ostensibly for those in the region who have a grasp on the language, it’s a nice surprise for importers.

We’re sure to bring more Taiko Drum Master news in the months to come.
