New Kirby concept art is finding its way online via the official Japanese Twitter for our favorite pink puffball. This time it’s focused entirely on the trio of Jambastion mages saying Bonjam to a new assortment of artistic alternatives to their appearances.

This first batch feels much earlier and experimental, with the sketches in the top left section actually looking pretty dang great. While I like the trio as we got them, these versions definitely would’ve painted the group as a little more intimidating. Across the whole of their conception the axe-sword-spear representation and elemental alignments stuck, but the defining emotions of the three wavered. At one point they even donned designs more in line with Canvas Curse’s Drawcia and other characters modeled after her including Star Allies’s own Vividria.

The other revealed set must’ve come later once the unified direction of the three was decided on. I’m not quite a fan of the witch hats and armor of the first batch or how otherworldly they appear in the third. That second set though is definitely making a good impression, with their multicolored hair and half cloaks marking their styles and status respectively.

I have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Star Allies updates, what with plenty of things to potentially share art of and the likelihood of new Dream Friends lying just beyond the stars.
