Inti Creates has a double dose of 2D action with two new games coming out of the Bitsummit event currently underway in Kyoto. Both of these games are offshoots of other existing or upcoming titles, and both look to be right in Inti’s wheelhouse.

First is Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger Ix. Announced for Switch, it’s a spinoff of the Azure Striker Gunvolt series of games staring rival character Copen. Putting you back in control of him with what look to be all new environments and challenges to deal with, as well as other returning characters, it’s great to see the series grow and develop while maintaining its sleek style. No release date is currently given, as it sounds like the project is fairly fresh in development.

The other is Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. Developed due to the success of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Kickstarter a few years back, this one looks to be a full throwback to Castlevania games of old. Most influence seems to come from Dracula’s Curse and its multiple characters, with some more modern convenience and polish for good measure. See them all in action (along with an introduction from Koji Igarashi) in the new trailer.

This one will be available much sooner, with its release slated for May 24th via the eShop for both 3DS and Switch (as well as other, non Nintendo platforms) for $9.99. If you backed Bloodstained at a pledge level high enough to receive a copy of that game, you’ll be due to receive this one for free as well.
