During February’s D23 Japan Expo there was the sneaky confirmation of something rather unusual in Kingdom Hearts 3 – minigames inspired by retro LCD game systems, namely the Game & Watch, seemingly part of a call-back to what could be seen as Mickey Mouse’s first video game appearance.

For an official meet-up of players of the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Union X revealed several more of these minigames, with several even playable at the event. Check out the new trailer released just for this “Classic Kingdom”:

While it’s a shame Kingdom Hearts 3 won’t be heading to the Switch it’s nice to see the game still has a hefty reference to a major part of Nintendo, and Disney’s, history.
