Fire Emblem Awakening is always going to stand out as a favorite in the series for me. With this newest trio of characters added to Warriors, three familiar and popular faces join the playable ranks to bring back all those 3DS memories.

First up is Olivia, showing off what she can do as a Dancer. Able to assist other teammates with her dances (even with how shy she is), she joins Songstress Azura as a unique sort of support character. That doesn’t mean she can’t do some damage herself though, wielding a sword with finesse and her own definition of grace.

Next is Tharja, a powerful Dark Mage obsessed with Robin. She’ll play similarly to them (male and female versions) — with her own unique visual flair. With a dry outlook on nearly everything around her, it’ll be refreshing to have another not-so-noble character amongst the cast. Expect plenty of shadow-wreathed hands and uttered curses from her and a shoutout to a certain collectible statue.

Speaking of shadow-wreathed hands, last up is Owain. A swordsman with some strange hobbies who needs no aide, he brings his over the top self to the game with a moveset similar to Ryoma. Rather than wield a second sword made of lightning like he does, Owain channels his ever hungry hand to pair an abyssal blade of pure darkness to his trademark Missiletainn.

These three are the final piece of the game’s Season Pass. They and the other add-ons are all available via the eShop now, with each pack bringing their three new characters as well as new costumes, history maps, weapons, conversations, skills and more. Time will tell if Fire Emblem Warriors continues to grow, but with such a massive cast of potential characters it wouldn’t be a surprise.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
