New Splatoon 2 update brings back Piranha Pit and a new Splat Brella | Nintendo Wire

UPDATE: The update with the Splat Brella — which is officially called the Sorella Brella — is available in Splatoon 2 today!

Splatoon 2 just won’t stop. Even with the Octo Expansion on the horizon we’re still getting more maps and weapons, with the next update to the game bringing one of each. The map’s not so much new as returning though, bringing back the Piranha Pit for some conveyor belt shenanigans.

As for the new aquatic armament, it’s a new variation of the Splat Brella in the same vein as the ‘Deco’ weapons. With a new pink and orange color it definitely pops more, but not as much as the other team will when you put together its Autobombs and Splat-Bomb Launcher. If you like making a splash with your subs and special, this one might be for you.

These will both hit the game 11 a.m. on March 31st in Japan, making a 7 p.m. release on the 30th most likely for the US. Make sure to get some coins ready to pick this one up and make your mark on the new map!

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
