Nintendo has announced that during this year’s E3 it will be hosting both a Splatoon 2 tournament with teams from online qualifiers, as well as an invitational exhibition for the recently announced Super Smash Bros. for the Switch.

The events will take place on June 11-12 and will be streamed on Nintendo’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The Smash Bros. event sounds like the invitational the company hosted before Super Smash Bros. for Wii U released, and will probably feature numerous Smash pros and personalities.

The Splatoon 2 tournament will feature teams who win online qualifying events that are set to take place in April. More information can be found on Nintendo’s E3 page.

The events will likely begin just after Nintendo’s E3 Direct, which usually happens on the Tuesday morning, granting us an even better look at Smash Bros. for Switch. We will finally see if this is an upgraded port of Smash for Wii U or if it’s an all-new game. We will keep you updated with any new information.
