As we crossed over the Nintendo Switch’s first anniversary fans were discovering something quite disconcerting – the game play time counter had reset to 0 days played. Nintendo has since acknowledged the issue and confirmed no data has been lost, and now, thanks to Nintendo Force playing review copies early last year, we know more.

After being “reset” after one year, the counter will display “First Played X Days Ago” for 10 days. On the 11th day, it will return to normal and show how many hours you’ve put into the game.

It’s likely Nintendo is working on a fix to avoid the issue cropping up in the first place but for now there’s the peace of mind that no time has been lost to the void!
