During E3 last year Nintendo teased us all with the confirmation of Metroid Prime 4 being in development, but we still know surprisingly little about it. All we know for sure is that it isn’t Retro Studios’ next game and instead a “new development team” is working on it. Now, thanks to some LinkedIn leaks and internet sleuthing, we may know who this team is.

The news first came from YouTube user Doctre81 and was then collaborated by Jahranimo on Resetera, where a Bandai Namco Singapore’s LinkedIn profile has been screencapped.

While it doesn’t mention Metroid Prime 4 by name, the reference to an exclusive first person shooter/adventure title comes after months of speculation that Bandai Namco are involved with the game, sparked by Reddit user DasVergeben. The Ridge Racer nod, meanwhile, is especially odd, considering how closely tied the IP has been with PlayStation platforms ever since the first game.

Coincidentally Press-Start delved into other Bandai Namco Singapore employee LinkedIn profiles and found several references to a “well-known unannounced IP”. Also intriguing is the fact many of these employees left LucasArts after the studio was shuttered and Star Wars 1313 was cancelled.

The team definitely has the space game credentials to pull of Metroid Prime 4 while Nintendo is no stranger to handing IPs to third parties, with Bandai Namco in particular helping work on Star Fox Assault and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. We’ll be sure to bring more on the game as Nintendo reveals it.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
