Kirby’s a puffball that loves to snooze, and after Mirror made its grand debut at the top of the Copy ability charts he deserves a rest. That’s why it makes perfect sense that Sleep would take the win in the second round of voting! Earning a place in the recently released Kirby Battle Royale, Sleep beat out the likes of Yo-yo and Suplex (second and third place respectively) to get crowned. See it in action

As much as I wanted Yo-yo, Sleep’s inclusion is well earned. All three regions (Japan, North America, and Europe) voted it as the top ability, and it’ll make the first time Sleep has ever had a moveset beyond nodding off. Turn every match into a pillow fight as you put your opponents down for a nap, send out a charged nose bubble (that’s a new one…), and of course regain some health while making some Z’s.

No doubt carried by just cute and longstanding Sleep has been in the series, you can see how other abilities stacked up as well. Along with Yo-yo and Suplex we see that Paint left a mark, Animal clawed its way up the ranks, UFO tried to reach for the stars, ESP lost its train of thought, Water got washed out, Magic couldn’t pull off its tricks, and Plasma fizzled out.

Sleep will make its Battle Royale debut in Japan on February 2nd, with other regions yet to be announced as of this writing. As for the rest, a handful of them have already been revealed for Star Allies so hopefully by March it’ll be a grand reunion of this group and the other standouts in Kirby’s never ending hat collection.
