Hello Kitty, the iconic cat-who-isn’t-a-cat, is coming to the Nintendo Switch this year. A port of the Wii U and mobile game, Hello Kitty Kruisers, will be crossing the Switch finish line this spring. Akin to the Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing franchises, Hello Kitty Kruisers’ original version consisted of ten characters to choose from, and 12 race tracks. The game will be available both physically and digitally, thus making it a bit easier to buy the game on a Nintendo platform. While, yes, it did grace the Wii U during the console’s lifespan, finding an unopened copy of the game can set you back $200 easily. Yikes!

There’s no word if the character roster will expand and have other Sanrio fan favorites join Hello Kitty, Keroppi, Badtz-Maru, Chococat, My Melody, Purin, Tuxedosam, Kuromi, Hangyodon, and Cinnamoroll on the race track. While the game didn’t garner too many positive reviews concerning its Wii U version, perhaps it can utilize what the Nintendo Switch has to offer. If that’s the case, I’d like to see the Hello Kitty food truck become an in-game vehicle.

For a dose of cuteness and a surly penguin, be ready to fly past your opponents this spring.
