As we enter the new year we’ll start to see more financial reports giving us an idea of how Nintendo performed throughout 2017. As always, the United Kingdom is one of the first countries to divulge the year’s sales data, and it paints an interesting picture for the Switch in the region.

GameIndustry.biz publisher Christopher Dring reports via Twitter that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold the most in the region, followed by Super Mario Odyssey then Breath of the Wild. Super Mario Odyssey’s position is quite remarkable, considering it launched the latest and yet still secured second place.

It’s worth noting that digital sales now account for 30-45% of console game sales in the UK, so the charts may be quite different if they were factored in.

Hopefully 2018 will be even better for Switch!
