Things have just gotten shockingly sinister in the world of ARMS. Previously hinted at in older story updates, we are now officially bearing witness to the rise of Dr. Coyle. This latest addition to the playable roster had a hand in the creation of Hedlok (with one of her ARMS even modeled after the mysterious boss character), but it’s her own fighting abilities that look most interesting.

Seen flying, sprouting copies of her ARMS and even turning invisible, this inventress has more tricks up her sleeves than Lola Pop and more mysteries than Misango. She definitely looks both fun and intimidating, and I’ll be in the lab myself to try and crack just how she works.

Speaking of, a new laboratory stage and plenty of other additions have come along with this update. The full notes can be gleaned on the Nintendo update page for your researching pleasure. The update includes balance adjustments for several ARMS, and even some improvements for everyone’s favorite candy clown. There’ve also been changes to the Grand Prix mode, with the difficulty now increasing as the fights go on in any difficulty below seven. If you go at that highest point, it’ll be hard as can be right out the gate. Sounds like there’s a Dr. C related surprise for anyone taking on the Grand Prix at six or higher as well…

That takes us into ARMS Version 5.0! Hard to believe we’ve been throwing punches this long, but it’s great to see continued support for the stretchy slugfest. Here’s hoping for more heading into 2018.
