While most game development seems to be well and truly shifting to the Nintendo Switch, the company’s evergreen 3DS handheld will continue to see strong support next year from Atlus. Alongside the Radiant Historia and Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey ports, a brand new game developed by FuRyu is also on the way – The Alliance Alive.

To build up interest, Atlus has released a new trailer showing the game’s daemon party members in story and battle contexts. Unlike the game’s spiritual predecessor Legend of Legacy, The Alliance Alive will have a greater emphasis on narrative and more typical JRPG progression, which comes across quite well in this video.

Atlus has also given the game a North American release date via Twitter: March 27, 2018. This will be the same date in Europe, too, so be sure to keep your 3DS handy till then if you’re a JRPG fan!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
