Artist Alex Pardee is celebrating the release of The End Is Nigh with a behind-the-scenes look at his design process.
And here is the original digital concept sketch vs the final illustration for #TheEndIsNigh. The final version was all drawn traditionally in pen and ink and then colored with layers of watercolor and digital coloring. ?? pic.twitter.com/8PnifRUUdv

From digital sketch to a mix-media final, it’s always interesting to see an artist’s work in various stages. It also makes it even more impressive that the final image was hand-drawn and inked, followed by layers of watercolor, then finished with coloring it further (thanks to digital programs).
Alex also shared a different logo design he drafted when working on the piece. A simple image with articulated line work, you can see that the facial expression of Ash in this form made it to the final cover.
If you enjoy Alex Pardee’s work, you can find him posting more of it on Twitter and on his personal website/portfolio (which is NSFW.) Even better, you can still purchase the physical version of the game on Amazon and other retailers.
