First things first – spoiler warning! Chances are this Rare Blade is hard to obtain in the main game, and longtime fans of the “Xeno” franchise will likely want to be surprised. Those who are fine with getting a sneak peek, though, keep reading on.

Before Monolith Soft became a Nintendo subsidiary, it made a trilogy of games for Namco – Xenosaga. We touched on this history in our recent Xenoblade history & legacy article a few days ago, so be sure to give that a read for some context.

It looks like Nintendo and Namco have come to a deal for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to bring back a familiar face. Check it out…
 


 
That’s right, the female android KOS-MOS who was at the forefront of Xenosaga is a guest blade! Her weapons are even shaped like the Zohar, a symbol common throughout the greater Xeno franchise.

We also have some official art confirming the Bandai Namco collaboration that made it possible.
 


 
We can only wonder if Nintendo will reach out to Square Enix and get some Xenogears representation into the game in a similar fashion. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date!
