Just a few days to go now till Xenoblade Chronicles 2 launches, giving Nintendo Switch owners one more epic journey before the year is done.

One of the hot points of contention leading up to release has been the game’s English voice acting, which players will be able to swap out with the Japanese equivalents if they so wish. If you’re willing to give the English option a chance, though, be sure to check out this trailer from Nintendo Australia, which is a localized version of the “Characters” video shown during the game’s own Direct earlier this month.

Personally speaking, I’m on board with the vast majority of voices highlighted, with main character Rex being the only oddball. He’s decidedly “northern” when it comes to British accents, which is a strange choice for the star of a JRPG, to say the least. Much like the first game’s voice acting, though, I’m sure it’s something players will grow to love so long as they let it sink in.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 launches this Friday, December 1st.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
