I’ve made my love of HAL Laboratory no secret, and while Kirby may be the biggest reason for my adoration, there’s plenty to love about his more angular cousin, Qbby. The BoxBoy! games are some of the finest in the 3DS eShop, and the little guy even had an amiibo made in his image. That said, the third and latest in the series had a sense of finality with it, leaving Qbby’s future a little uncertain.
But not for long…
For those not in the know, HAL Laboratory has been making BOX Channel videos for a while now. These often humorous and cute videos feature Qbby alongside the host and guests, interacting and having a great time.
Today’s video looks back at that fun, and closes with all the BoxBoy! titles and logos flashing on-screen. Then along comes “To be continued…?” While it may just be saying that Qbby will show up in future HAL games (like through his amiibo in Kirby Battle Royale) or that the BOX Channel will make future appearance, the presence of the game titles makes me think we’ll be seeing another BoxBoy! in due time.
Stay tuned for any future, potential development regarding a new title — because that’s sure to be one you won’t want to miss.
