UPDATE: The Pokémon GO Halloween event is now live. Be sure to download the latest update and get to catching ghouls!

It’s been a badly kept secret for a few days now but Generation III Pokémon are officially heading to Pokémon GO as part of 2017’s Halloween event.

The ghost types Duskull, Dusclops, Shuppet, Sableye and Banette will lead the charge, while existing spooky Pokémon like Gastly, Cubone, Misdreavus, Houndour will become more commonplace. A Witch Hat Pikachu will also be along for the ride, and trainers won’t be left out of the headwear game as a Mimikyu Disguise hat will be made available to wear. Finally, Candy rewards will be doubled throughout.

The Halloween event will start tomorrow, October 20, at 12:00 p.m. PDT and run through till November 2 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, so you’ll have plenty of time to bust some ghosts.

The rest of Generation III will be rolled out gradually, starting in December, so get ready to start the hunt all over again.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
