Last Friday we brought you the news that Atlus was advertising Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux with a fake Metroidvania-styled game featuring the franchise’s iconic “Jack” demons. Back then we speculated that it was too polished to be purely fake and it turns out we were right, as Atlus has put the game out as a free download.

You can head on over to the Shin Megami Tensei Synchrocity Prologue website to download the game for yourself, so long as you’re on a Windows PC. It’s in Japanese, but much of it is self explanatory.

The game will only be available to download until December 24th, so be sure to try it out. Here’s hoping it may lead to a proper full release in the future, especially given that “Prologue” subheader…
