Earlier this year Archie ended its 24 year relationship with Sega and cancelled its long-running Sonic comic. A few days later, a new partnership was confirmed, this time with the publishing behemoth that is IDW.

At New York Comic Con the company is sharing the first tidbits of info regarding the series via a flyer on the showfloor. Thanks to Twitter user Linkabel we can take a closer look.

That artwork may seem familiar as it’s by Tyson Hesse, the artist behind Sonic Mania’s various animated cutscenes and several Archie Sonic comics. Needless to say, the art is in good hands.

Here’s a full transcript of the back of the flyer, too:

Thank you for joining us for the first ever IDW/Sonic Town Hall!

IDW and Sega are proud to bring you an all-new chapter of Sonic the Hedgehog comics! After more than 25 years, Sonic’s adventures have captured the imaginations of countless fans, and have inspired one of the most passionate fan bases in the world. We look forward to bringing you brand-new stories, featuring characters old and new, that continue this proud legacy of the fastest comics around!

So there you have it; IDW will begin its publishing run for the blue hedgehog in April of next year.
