Plenty of indie game franchises got their start on Nintendo platforms, but few feel quite as synonymous as atooi’s Mutant Mudds series. After the first dual-layered platformer launched in January 2012 on the 3DS, it later saw ports to various other systems and a spin-off sequel in 2016. Now the franchise is making the leap over to Nintendo’s latest system, with a few extra bells and whistles.

Mutant Mudds Collection will feature both Mutant Mudds Deluxe and the aforementioned spin-off Super Challenge in full at a higher resolution than their 3DS counterparts. That’s not all though, as a brand new game will also be included – the puzzler Mudd Blocks.

There’s no specific release date yet, just a vague 2017 window. We’ll be sure to let you know when the game pops up on the eShop.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
