While a lot of today’s Nintendo Direct was universal, Europe and Japan got their own little tidbits of news that are worth taking a look at.

First up are the games exclusive to the region(s), such as New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star, the latest entry in the franchise known as Style Savvy in North America. While you’ll still manage your own fashion boutique, “this time, your customers’ stories may unfold differently based on the outfits you select.” At least, according to Nintendo UK’s official page. Styling Star is set to launch on November 24th in Europe.

Japan got the most unique announcements though, the biggest of all being a port of Phantasy Star Online 2. First released for PCs back in 2012 and frustratingly unlocalized, the Switch version promises to also be free to play. Intriguingly players will be cloud streaming the game, so it won’t be rendered on hardware.

We also got confirmation that Koei Tecmo’s Atelier Lydie and Souer would launch for Switch in Japan this Winter, as well as the popular Karaoke app JOYSOUND.

The Nintendo 3DS is also getting more love in Japan with confirmation of a third game in the Dillon’s Rolling Western series, subtitled The Dead Heat Breakers. It’ll launch in 2018.

If any of these games are confirmed for localization in other regions we’ll be sure to let you know.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
