One of the great benefits of indie games is how they teach and spread the culture of lesser known peoples around the world. Mulaka — a 3D action-adventure game developed by Uenzo — is another title that follows this rich tradition, with a vibrant world inspired by the indigenous Tarahumura people of northwestern Mexico.

The game is stylistically bright and vivid, featuring polygonal figures and varied landscapes. Players will take control of a Rarámuri man, employing the renowned running abilities of the Tarahumura people to make his way along the landscape. The game includes combat with foes both big and small, as well as the ability to transform into animals like a bird or a bear in order to reach areas or do battle. We can also expect puzzles, exploration and secrets to be peppered throughout the game.

Mulaka launches in early 2018. Check back in the future for more information, including a launch date and price point.
