One of my favorites from today’s Nindies Showcase was a little rhythm game by the name of Floor Kids. Themed around breakdancing, you’ll choose a bboy or bgirl to bring your crew through a series of matches in the city as you play your way through. The game seems focused on letting you freestyle and find your own flow, rewarding experimentation as long as you can keep up with the music.

That music’s nothing to scoff at either, with beats coming from famed DJ Kid Koala. Alongside that will be hand-drawn animations and visuals from artist Jonjon, giving the game a unique look that’s surprisingly fitting. You’ll be able to pull off hundreds of moves with both button and touch control schemes, and multiplayer will let you play with a friend to show ‘em what you got.

Floor Kids will be spinning onto Switch this holiday season.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
