Earlier this year Arc System Works developed and published a new entry in the long-running Double Dragon franchise, which positioned itself as a throwback follow-up to the first 3 NES games. While Double Dragon IV has been available on PS4 and Steam since January, it’ll be making its way back home to a Nintendo console early next month.

The news comes via Arc System Works updating the game’s official website to display a September 7th launch date for a Switch version. It also illustrates the various ways you can play the game with the Switch and its Joy-Con.

We’ll have to wait and see if Double Dragon IV pops up in the just-announced Nindies stream scheduled for this Wednesday, but it wouldn’t be a surprise.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
