Some people take their frames per second seriously, to the point that whether a game is 30 or 60fps is sometimes a deal breaker. Those types will be happy to learn that Fire Emblem Warriors will have the option to scale down the resolution in exchange for boosting the frame rate.

The game’s default specs are for 1080p at 30 frames per second, while this option will bump it down/up to 720p at 60 frames per second. The game’s director, Hiroya Usuda, indicated the option was added for those who prefer smooth action over graphical fidelity. A similar option was included in Koei Tecmo’s PS4 title Nioh earlier this year, so it might be a growing trend in the company’s games.

The option appears to be for the Switch version only, as it’s unlikely that the 3DS or New 3DS will be able to handle more than 30fps. The option seems like a nice inclusion for those with different preferences, and will undoubtedly be useful when the game launches sometime this fall.
