Those who ordered the coveted piece of nostalgia are receiving an e-mail from Amazon’s [email protected] email address. Redditor BaronSolace took the plunge on r/Nintendo and posted the new development in the SNES Classic Edition saga.
The message reads as follows:
“Hello,
We’re contacting you about order [order number] for Super NES Classic:
We recently learned that we may miss your delivery promise and apologize for the inconvenience. You will still receive your order of Super NES Classic. We are working hard to ensure you get this item as soon as it is in stock. You can track the status of, or make any changes to, your order under Your Orders on Amazon.com.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/css/your-orders-access
We hope to see you again soon.
Sincerely,
Customer Service
Amazon.com”
In addition to that email, we’re also seeing reports of multiple orders getting cancelled, having the item limited to one per Amazon account (similar to exclusive amiibo releases). As of now, those who are affected by this have been sharing their estimated shipping dates, which is turning into early October for some.
Outside of the email, Amazon has yet to release an official statement discussing its release of the SNES Classic and reasons as to why the page listings were changed.
We’ll update any news concerning this, along with any pre-order developments from other retailers, as information becomes available.
