The mystery and anticipation towards the next ARMS update continues to grow. We’ve seen Biff lounging about in what’s sure to be the next arena to be added to the game. The new fighter was shown to us in a teaser (they were heavily blurred) alongside a strange looking weapon. Now we have another new kind of punchin’ option to check out in some hazy footage, though it’s a little similar to one already in the game by the look of things.
ARMSラボから、試作アームの映像が送られてきました。ラボ、民間企業がつくったアームの評価試験も行っているんですよ!
ほほう、「盾型」アームのようですね。今、盾型はファランクスだけですし企業としても狙い目……んん??コレ、何が起こってるんでしょう…!? pic.twitter.com/qipWFu75Hs— ARMS(アームズ) (@ARMS_Cobutter) August 18, 2017
Behaving similarly to the Guardian, and available on Helix by default, this new item looks to be a shield-type ARMS. Called Phalanx in Japanese, it lives up to the name by actually repelling those who strike it. Judging by the clip, it doesn’t extend too far out, making it more of a pure defensive option. This’ll more than likely come alongside the new fighter whenever they’re added, just as Max Brass brought along a trio of new styles. There’s still no word on when this will be happening, but the buildup is definitely getting me excited.
