Out of the blue, Arc System Works has announced it will be publishing a ported puzzler on the Nintendo Switch tomorrow. Described as a “beat’em-up puzzle game”, Boost Beast was developed for smart devices back in 2015 by Arzest, the team behind Yoshi’s New Island and the imminent Hey! Pikmin.

The story of the game is especially goofy; you play as Alec, the king of dogs, as you rally animals to take on the zombie hordes that devastated the world. By matching 3 animal blocks of the same color you’ll summon them and beat back the shambling dead. Check out the Switch version’s debut trailer:

You’ll be able to grab Boost Beast via the Nintendo Switch eShop tomorrow for $9.99 / €9.99 / 1,200 ¥.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
